A 17-year-old boy has died in an early morning crash into a parked truck in Merrimac.
The boy was a passenger in a Nissan Navara Ute that lost control along Gooding Drive around 2.10am this morning.
The Tallai boy suffered critical injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the Nissan, a 17-year-old Eagleby boy, was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital, however is not believed to have sustained serious injuries.
The crash closed Gooding Drive westbound for a number of hours.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the collision.
Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or have relevant dashcam/CCTV vision, to come forward.
