Four teenage girls have been injured, one seriously, in a horror crash on the northern Gold Coast.
Emergency crews were called to Rix Drive in Upper Coomera just after 9pm on Tuesday following reports of a serious crash.
Upon arrival, they found a car had slammed into a tree.
Three girls, all aged in their teens, suffered head injuries and were treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in stable conditions.
While a fourth girl was rushed to hospital with potentially life-threatening head injuries.
Investigations into the crash are now underway, with police confirming the teens are assisting officers with their enquiries.
Police are appealing for anyone with relevant dashcam vision or information to come forward.
