A 15-year-old girl has been charged with serious assault on police following a wild incident at a Gold Coast tram stop.

It all kicked off when police were responding to an alleged bashing of a 39-year-old man at Broadbeach Tram Station on the Gold Coast Highway at around 10pm Friday night.

Officers were taking the teenage girl into custody, however, she “became agitated” and allegedly assaulted three officers while being placed under arrest.

A male Sergeant, a male Constable and a female Constable received face and body injuries.

They were taken to Pindara Private Hospital for treatment.

The 15-year-old has been charged with three counts of serious assault police.

She has been denied bail to appear at Southport Childrens Court.
