A teenage boy has been charged over a brazen daylight robbery in the middle of a popular shopping centre on the Gold Coast.

The 16-year-old was captured on CCTV looking at iPhones through a glass cabinet at a store inside Robina Town Centre around 1pm last Tuesday.

The teen left the store, but returned about 15 minutes later, allegedly smashing the glass cabinet with a rock.

He managed to grab three new iPhones before making a run for it, leaving the small business with a $10,000 bill.

Following ongoing investigations, police managed to track the teen down.

He’s been charged over the theft and is due to front the Children’s Court today.
