Suspicious fire damages Gold Coast school

Police are investigating a suspicious fire at Labrador State School.

Nearby residents raised the alarm around 3.15pm on Sunday after noticing smoke coming from the school.

The fire destroyed two small sheds at the rear of the school hall but fire crews prevented the blaze from spreading.

However, some sports equipment and a sandpit were damaged.

Investigations into the fire are continuing with arson suspected.

Police are urging anyone who noticed anything suspicious to contact them.
