A crime scene has been declared at a Mermaid Beach property following the sudden death of a baby girl.
Emergency Services were called to the home just after 8am this morning after the infant was found dead.
A QPS spokesperson has confirmed investigations are underway into the cause of her death.
The exact age of the child is not known at this stage.
