Gold Coast motorists are being urged to keep an eye out for cheaper fuel, with petrol prices expected to drop slightly over the next week.
It comes as the price of fuel continues to skyrocket across the country, with petrol soaring well over $2.20 a litre in most cities including Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
At the moment, the price of petrol on the Gold Coast is around $2.10 for regular unleaded, but we’re being assured there is some hope on the horizon.
Analysts predict prices will drop by at least 10 cents over the next 10 days, just in time for the September school holidays.
Some petrol stations on the Gold Coast appear to have jumped the gun, with at least three spotted already selling fuel for as low as 199.9 cents.
Freedom Fuels in Arundel, United Arundel and Liberty Helensvale is where you will be able to fill up for the lowest price on the Coast at the moment, according to petrol tracker Petrol Spy.
However, we are being warned it won’t last long, with steady fuel prices expected to remain in place right up until Christmas.
The petrol price hike is being blamed on oil-producing countries restricting supply, as well as a slightly weaker Australian dollar.
