Residents around parts of the hinterland have been warned of possible smoke haze today after a bushfire broke out.

The fire started in Cedar Creek, near Tamborina, around 5pm on Thursday and multiple crews are still working to contain it on Friday morning.

It’s currently burning in inaccessible land, making it difficult for crews to extinguish.

Air support is now being called in to help map the fire.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services has said that no properties are under threat but smoke is currently affecting Cedar Creek and surrounding areas.

QFES is urging residents to stay indoors and close windows and doors and have warned the smoke may reduce visibility and affect driving conditions and some roads may need to be closed.
