The Gold Coast is about to be impacted by wild weather, with the weather bureau issuing a severe thunderstorm warning for the southeast.
The thunderstorms are bringing damaging wind gusts of up to 90k an hour, heavy rainfall and large hailstones.
Powerful storm cells are currently impacting the Scenic Rim and are heading east towards the city.
The warning has been issued for people in Logan and parts of Ipswich, Scenic Rim, Toowoomba, Gold Coast, Redland City, Brisbane City and Western Downs Council Areas.
“The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 1:45 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones were detected near the area between Boonah and Beaudesert and Bundamba Lagoon,” BOM says.
“These thunderstorms are moving towards the northeast to southeast. They are forecast to affect Greenbank, Redbank Plains and Wacol by 2:15 pm and Beenleigh, Logan Central and Camp Hill by 2:45 pm.”

- Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
- Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
