Over a dozen people have had a dreaded wait, after becoming stuck in a lift in Surfers Paradise.
13 people became trapped on the ground floor of a Ferny Avenue hotel when the elevator doors wouldn’t open.
It happened at the Skyline North Chevron Renaissance.
Firefighters were called around 10.40am and arrived at the scene just before 10.55am.
A QFES spokesperson said a crew was dispatched “code one”.
However, firies departed the scene just after 11am, leaving it in the hands of lift technicians who they said were 15 minutes away.
A security member was tasked with monitoring those trapped and they are now believed to have been freed after over 45 minutes.
