A woman who escaped from a prison in the Hinterland has been found hiding out in a Gold Coast home after three days on the run.
The 29-year-old allegedly absconded from Numinbah Correctional Centre on Wednesday, sparking a frantic search.
Queensland Corrective Services issued an alert, appealing for the public to keep an eye out.
Following investigations, the woman was located at a home in Labrador around 3pm on Saturday, December 10.
She was taken into custody and has since been charged with one count of escape by persons in lawful custody.
“Queensland Police continue to investigate the woman’s movements between December 7 and December 10 and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward,” police said.
The woman is due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court today.
Investigations are continuing.
