Police, security guards and patrons have all been injured after a wild brawl broke out at a notorious pub on the Gold Coast.

It all began just after midnight when a security guard was trying to evict two men from Treetops Tavern in Burleigh Waters.

As the guard was trying to remove the pair, he was allegedly cut with a knife.

A 37-year-old man then tried to intervene when the duo turned on him and struck him in the head, knocking him to the ground where they continued assaulting him.

Police were then called to the scene and while trying to arrest a 41-year-old man, a 25-year-old man allegedly sprayed a fire extinguisher and threw multiple chairs at the arresting officers.

They pair were eventually taken into custody a short time later.

Two male senior constables, aged 39 and 54, were treated for non life threatening injuries.

A 41-year-old Biggera Waters man has since been charged with five counts of assault occasioning bodily harm in company, and two counts of obstruct police.

A 25-year-old Helensvale man has also been charged with five counts of assault occasioning bodily harm in company, and four counts of serious assault police officer whilst armed, all whilst adversely affected by an intoxicating substance.

Both are due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court today.
