Police have released images of a man and car that they are looking for following an attempted robbery in Burleigh Heads earlier this month.
The man is accused of shoving a 14-year-old boy off his electric ‘Sur-Ron Light Bee X’ dirt bike in an attempt to steal it.
It happened while the boy was sitting on the bike chatting to friends on the footpath of the Gold Coast Highway on Tuesday, July 11 just before 4.20pm.
The victim held onto his bike and his friend fought back by kicking the man twice before grabbing the bike’s keys and running off.
The man chased the friend down but couldn’t keep up.
The boy also suffered eye bruising after being punched in the face during the ordeal.
Gold Coast detectives are appealing for public assistance to locate a silver or grey Mitsubishi Lancer that the man was a passenger in.
The vehicle is described as 9th generation with VR-X trim and black mag wheels, believed to be a 2008 model or newer.
The man depicted in this vision may be able to assist police with their inquiries.
Anyone who recognises the man or the vehicle in the vision is urged to contact police.
