Police are investigating two separate crashes on the Gold Coast.

The first occurred during peak hour along Maudsland Road in Oxenford around 5pm on Wednesday.

According to officers, a four-wheel drive crossed onto the wrong side of the road before ploughing into a hatchback.

The 4WD then rolled before the driver allegedly attempted to do a runner from the scene.

He was tracked down by police a short time later and taken to hospital, along with the other driver.

Police are also looking into another crash, which occurred along the M1 in Upper Coomera in the early hours of this morning.

“Initial investigations indicate around 2.30am, a vehicle travelling southbound along the Pacific Motorway near the Days Road intersection has crashed into a northbound lane,” Queensland Police said.
