Police probe after assault leaves man in GC Hospital

Police are investigating after a man was assaulted on the Gold Coast overnight.

Emergency crews were called to a home along South Quay Drive in Biggera Waters around 11.30pm following reports two men had been involved in an altercation.

Upon arrival, they found a 48-year-old man suffering facial injuries.

He was assessed at the scene before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.

Police have confirmed both men are known to each other.

Investigations are ongoing.
