Police negotiating with man who chained himself to tree on Gold Coast

Emergency services are currently negotiating with a man who has allegedly chained himself to a tree in Currumbin.

It’s understood the man climbed several metres up the tree along Woodgee Street just before 8.00am on Wednesday.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crews are also on scene assisting.

The incident is believed to have been sparked by a neighbourhood dispute about cutting the tree down.
