Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed a violent incident in Burleigh last week to come forward.
An altercation erupted between a gang of six people and a family of five on Goodwin Terrace at around 10pm on Friday, August 2.
Police arrived to find a 53-year-old Victorian man suffering multiple facial injuries.
He was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital and had to undergo surgery.
The two groups were not known to each other.
Police believe the incident occurred in the area between Burleigh Pavilion and the Burleigh Heads Surf Life Saving Club.
Police are appealing to witnesses, particularly anyone with mobile phone footage, to immediately come forward.
Investigations are continuing.
