A tobacconist on the northern Gold Coast has been targeted by destructive thieves.
Three offenders used a Ute to smash into the shop along Peachey Road in Ormeau at around 3am.
The male offenders then forced their way into an ATM inside the store, and stole a stash of cash.
Theft prevention smoke devices were activated and the men fled in the Ute before police could arrive.
Police have urged anyone who saw any suspicious activity or may have relevant dashcam/vision in the area at the time to get in contact with them.
