Two males are in custody after a wild joyride across the Gold Coast that has caused massive delays for motorists.
The stolen vehicle was first spotted on the M1 at Helensvale around 12.30pm on Monday.
The car was tracked by Polair to Southport before it headed back towards the M1.
Police were forced to later deploy tyre spikes before the car came to a stop in the northbound lanes of the motorway at Pimpama.
The left-hand lane was blocked for some time while officers inspected the car.
Traffic delays as at 4pm were all the way back to Mudgeeraba.
More to come.
