A man and woman have been charged after a firearm was allegedly found in a stolen car in Surfers Paradise.
Officers were alerted to the vehicle early on Saturday after doing a registration check on the car.
Police watched the occupants of the car go into a convenience store before pouncing on the pair.
A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered a sawn-off shotgun and a range of stolen property.
The car was seized while a 31-year-old man and 31-year-old woman were taken into custody.
They were both denied bail and are due to front court on Monday.
