A 15-year-old boy has been “dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act” following a horrific alleged gang-bashing in Palm Beach.
The teenager from Worongary was arrested on Monday afternoon after handing himself into the Surfers Paradise police station.
It follows the brutal bashing of three teenage boys on the beach near the Pirate Park in Palm Beach on Saturday night, allegedly by a gang of up to ten boys.
A 15-year-old boy was punched in the nose and suffered a broken left leg, while another 15-year-old boy sustained facial injuries at around 9.15 pm.
An hour later, another 15-year-old boy was attacked, suffering bruising and cuts.
All three boys also had their ‘Nike’ shoes stolen, and were hospitalised for treatment.
Video footage that has emerged of the attack shows one of the victims cowering in the sand holding onto his head as he is repeatedly kicked.
Police have confirmed the boy who was arrested on Monday afternoon has not been charged.
Investigators are continuing to hunt down the remaining members of the gang.
More to come.
