It may have been a drizzly night across the Gold Coast but that didn’t stop the graduating class of 2023 from having a good time.

Monday marked night three of Schoolies celebrations in Surfers Paradise, with paramedics again kept reasonably busy.

A total of 50 teens were assessed within the dedicated Schoolies medical hub, mostly for intoxication.

However, only two of those needed to be taken to hospital for further treatment.

It’s not known if there were any further arrests after six school-leavers were arrested on the first two nights of celebrations.

That’s compared to 20 Toolies who were taken into custody in the party precinct during the same time.

It comes as police continue to praise the behaviour of this year’s Schoolies, with both arrests and hospitaliations down on previous years.

“The schoolies have been excellent, they’re engaging with the volunteers and police,” Acting Superintendent Peter Miles said.

“It’s great to see that they’re wandering around in groups of three or four, so they’re looking out for each other.

“It’s been a really good vibe, we can’t fault this group at this stage”.
