Close to 2000 homes on the Gold Coast are currently without power.
Around 1,918 properties in Currumbin Waters have been affected, while an additional 14 in Burleigh Waters are also blacked out.
There are also a number of traffic lights out in the areas affected.
The power outages are believed to have been caused by two separate incidents.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called to Kortum Drive, Burleigh Heads with reports of a fire on the power lines around 2.25pm on Wednesday.
While firefighters were also called to an explosion from power lines along BienVenue Drive, Currumbin Waters at 3.10pm with reports of a transformer sparking.
Energex crews are on the scene investigating and working to fix the issue as soon as possible.
