LATEST @ 8.45 AM | A man and woman are fighting for life following a horror crash on the northern Gold Coast.
Two vehicles ploughed head-on along Rifle Range Road in Pimpama around 7.30am on Thursday.
One of the driver’s, a woman in her 20s, had to be cut free from the wreckage.
She has since been rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle, a man, has also been taken with life-threatening injuries.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
EARLIER @ 7.45 AM | Fire crews are currently working to free a person trapped inside a vehicle in Pimpama following a serious crash.
Two cars collided head-on along Rifle Range Road around 7.30am.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene, arriving to find one of the motorists still trapped in the wreckage.
At the time of writing (7.50am) crews were still working to cut free the driver, whose condition and injuries remain unknown.
A second motorist is being treated by paramedics for chest injuries.
Drivers are being urged to avoid the area, with delays expected.
