Two motorbike riders have been rushed to hospital after a horror crash on the Pacific Motorway.
The riders were travelling northbound around 7.30pm on Sunday when their motorbikes collided in Coomera.
The impact caused one of the bikes to erupt into a fireball, with fire crews rushing to the scene to douse the flames.
Police were forced to shut down the M1 for several hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
Both male riders, aged in their 20s, were treated at the scene for various serious injuries before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in critical conditions.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the accident.
