A motorcyclist, critically injured in a horror smash on the M1, has died.
The male ride lost control on the motorway at Coomera just after 3pm on Friday afternoon before crashing into a guard rail.
Emergency services, including critical care paramedics, rushed to the scene but the 53-year-old man from Upper Coomera died at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit is continuing to investigate the accident.
The crash caused traffic mayhem on the M1 with southbound delays extending more than 20 kilometres.
The accident was eventually cleared just after 8pm.
