A motorbike rider has been rushed to hospital after crashing with a car on a busy Molendinar road.
The man in his 20s is suffering serious lower leg, abdominal and chest injuries.
The “high-impact” collision happened along Southport Nerang Road around 1.30pm.
Senior Operations Supervisor Cary Strong says he’s in a critical condition.
“He’s got obvious lower-limb fractures, we’re also treating him for a lower pelvic fracture as well and for abdominal and chest injuries,” Mr Strong says.
“We have stabilised and splinted and stopped any haemorrhage to his lower leg and we have splinted his pelvic region, and we’re also treating him for any possible head injuries that he may present with.”
The rider has been taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
