The Gold Coast could be lashed by more severe thunderstorms today after receiving a taste of the action overnight.
A severe thunderstorm warning was issued around 8.30pm on Monday, with the weather bureau advising damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding was possible.
While the forecast wild weather didn’t exactly eventuate, the city was treated to a spectacular light show mixed with loud rumbles of thunder.
The Bureau of Meteorology has confirmed more storms are possible today, as the coast heads for a partly cloudy top of 27 degrees.
“Severe storms likely to bring damaging winds, large hail and heavy rain for parts of central & southeast inland Qld,” BOM said.
“Isolated but very dangerous storms are possible in the red area from the afternoon”.
