A moped rider has died in a horror crash in Miami this morning.
Emergency crews were called to Marine Parade around 5am, following reports a moped had collided with the side of a parked car.
The male rider, whose age is not yet known, suffered critical injuries.
Despite desperate attempts by paramedics, he could not be revived and died at the scene.
Chief Superintendent Craig Hanlon told ABC Radio the man was not wearing a helmet.
“A moped rider has collided with a stationary vehicle, the male rider wasnt wearing a helmet and he was pronounced deceased at the scene”.
Forensic Crash Unit officers are now investigating, with motorists being urged to avoid Marine Parade at Miami.
They’re appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam to come forward.
