A delicate operation is underway to rescue a man who’s fallen off a popular track in Springbrook.

The hiker in his 50s fell around 5 metres down a rock face on Twin Falls Circuit just before 2 o’clock.

He’s suffering serious chest and pelvic injuries, but rescue crews are struggling to reach him due to the difficult terrain.

A rescue chopper is now on its way to try and winch the man to safety.

Five technical rescue crews from QFES are on the scene, along with QAS paramedics.

More to come.
