Police have nabbed a Gold Coast hoon following a nasty crash in Ormeau.

A Holden Commodore was hooning along Peachey Road just before 8pm last night when it smashed into another vehicle.

The 31-year-old man allegedly behind the wheel of the Holden has since been charged with drink-driving and hooning offences.

The driver of the other vehicle, a woman in her 20s, sustained chest pain and had to be hospitalised.

The alleged hoon was also hospitalised with back and shoulder pain.

Both were taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

The 31-year-old man will front Southport Magistrates Court on March 24.
