A manhunt is underway across the Gold Coast this morning for a man who allegedly tried to smash his way into a Nerang tobacco store.
The wannabe thief is accused of trying to break into the Price Street business with a crowbar around 11.40pm on Sunday, but was busted in the act by police.
“The man was seen to use a crowbar to break into the roller door to gain entry into the store,” a Gold Coast police spokesperson told myGC.
“He was about to enter the business when police arrived”.
The man then jumped into a vehicle and fled the scene.
He remains on the run, with investigations ongoing.
