A major manhunt is continuing across the Gold Coast this morning after a teenager was allegedly shot.
Emergency crews were called to the Helensvale Plaza shopping centre on Sir John Overall Drive in Helensvale around 6.20pm on Monday, following reports a male had been injured.
Upon arrival, they found a 19-year-old man suffering serious injuries to his arm.
“Initial investigations indicate the man was standing in a car park when he suffered injuries consistent with a gunshot wound, causing non-life-threatening injuries,” A Queensland Police spokesperson said.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics, including the High Acuity Response Unit, before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the man in the car park or a white Nissan Qashqai hatch in the area at the time, to come forward.
Investigators are also appealing for CCTV footage or anyone who may have relevant dash-cam vision to contact them.
“Officers believe there is no imminent danger to the public”.
A crime scene has been declared behind a business at the shopping centre as investigations continue.
