A manhunt is underway for an alleged car thief following a nasty crash in Maudsland.
A Ford Ranger ute towing a trailer lost control along Birds Road around 10.30pm on Wednesday.
According to police, the vehicle crashed and landed upside down on its roof.
The occupants of the Ranger then fled the scene on foot before emergency crews arrived on scene.
Investigations have confirmed the ute was stolen just moments before the crash from a home on the same street.
Investigations are continuing.
Police are appealing for anyone with information or vision to come forward.
