One man has been arrested, while a major manhunt continues for a second man, following a violent attempted carjacking on the Gold Coast.
The victim suffered stab wounds to his hands after being confronted by two armed men outside a gym in Bundall around 12.45pm on Thursday.
According to police, the male was sitting in his Holden Astra on Bundall Road when he was approached by the duo.
“An altercation occurred, and the armed man stole the victim’s car keys before leaving in a white Holden Cruze, while the other male left the scene on foot,” Queensland Police said.
The man was spotted driving the Holden Cruze dangerously through a Showcase Court car park a short time later before crashing the vehicle.
The 41-year-old was arrested at the scene after allegedly being found slumped over the wheel, with police also seizing a knife from the car.
Officers are continuing to search for the second man, who remains on the run.
Investigations are ongoing.
