A major manhunt is underway for a driver accused of running down two teenagers in an alleged hit-and-run on the Gold Coast.
Police allege the silver Mercedes was driving erratically and at speed near the Corner of Benowa Road and Lambros Drive in Benowa around 8.30pm on Saturday when it struck an e-scooter ridden by two teenagers.
The girl and boy, both aged 16, thankfully managed to escape with minor injuries and were transported to hospital for treatment.
According to police, the driver of the Mercedes fled the scene “without offering to assist to the pair”.
Investigators believe the vehicle would have sustained significant left side panel damage including missing a mirror and appeal to the driver, or anyone with further information to come forward.
Police are also appealing for witnesses, especially those with relevant dashcam or CCTV to make contact.
