A man has had to be tasered by police following a violent and bizarre outburst on the Gold Coast overnight.
Emergency crews were called to Chairlift Avenue in Mermaid Beach around 8pm following reports a man was armed and damaging vehicles.
Upon arrival, the man allegedly became increasingly agitated, forcing officers to deploy a taser before taking him into custody.
The 35-year-old, who police allege also stole stock from a nearby business, has been charged with one count each of wilful damage, stealing and enter premises with intent.
He was refused bail and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.
Investigations are continuing.
