LATEST @ 9.00 AM | A lengthy siege in Logan has finally come to an end with the man at the centre of the police operation now in custody.

The 27-year-old surrendered to officers around 8.40am on Thursday following nine hours of negotiations at a home on Chambers Flat Road.

Police were initially called to the property around midnight following reports of a disturbance.

It’s believed neighbours had complained about loud music.

South East Region acting inspector Jason Barrowcliffe said officers were “confronted by a male person in an agitated state” when they attended the home.

The man is also believed to have been armed, forcing officers to retreat.

An emergency declaration was made around 6am, with residents in the exclusion zone told to remain inside their homes.
