A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed in a park in Nerang.
Emergency services were called to Arthur Earle Park just after 2.30am on Thursday after reports of an assault.
A 51-year-old man was found with wounds to his chest.
Paramedics stabilised the man on the scene before he was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
Queensland Police have since confirmed a 40-year-old man is assisting with enquires.
Officers are appealing to anyone who may have information to come forward as they continue investigations.
