A man has suffered a suspected fractured skull in an incident outside a bottle shop on the Gold Coast overnight.
It’s understood two men were involved in a verbal altercation on Chevron Island around 8pm which quickly escalated.
A 58-year-old man was allegedly pushed to the ground, hitting his head on the concrete.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics for serious head injuries, before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
The other man allegedly involved has been questioned by police.
No charges have been laid at this stage, however, investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
A Queensland Police spokesperson confirmed the pair are known to each other.
