A man has been rushed to hospital with serious burns after a car caught fire at a Gold Coast petrol.
It’s understood the car was parked at the bowser at the Caltex on Brisbane Road and Olsen Avenue when a fire somehow ignited.
Fire crews were called to the scene around 9am but say the fire had mostly being put out by the time they arrived.
A man was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital’s burns unit with a police escort.
A crime scene has now been established at the service station as forensic investigators try to determine what happened.
