Man rushed to hospital after alleged Southport stabbing

Investigations are underway following an alleged stabbing in Southport early this morning.

Emergency crews were called to a home on Barney Street just before 2am on Thursday following reports a man had been injured.

Upon arrival, they found a 46-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam vision from the area at the time to come forward as investigations continue.
