LATEST @ March 9, 6.25AM | A man has died following a horror truck crash at Clagiraba in the Gold Coast hinterland.
Police say initial investigations suggest the truck was travelling along the notorious Henri Robert Drive around 1.30pm on Wednesday, when it left the road and went down an embankment near King Parrot Court.
The driver, a man in his 30s, suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.
His passenger, a 23-year-old Brisbane man, was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital with a serious head injury.
Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision from the area to come forward.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

EARLIER @ March 8, 2.15 PM | Two people have suffered injuries, with one fighting for life, in a horror truck crash in the Gold Coast hinterland.
The truck careened down an embankment along Henri Robert Drive in Clagiraba at around 1.30pm.
At the time of writing, the pair is currently still trapped inside the vehicle and Henri Robert Drive is currently closed in both directions.
Two fire crews are on scene using the jaws of life to rescue the two people, who’s gender is currently unknown.
Paramedics are on standby to treat the pair once they have been freed from the wreck.
Over 145 properties in Clagiraba and Mount Nathan have also lost power.
