An elderly man has died in a horror motorbike crash on the Gold Coast.
The 72-year-old was travelling along Nerang Murwillumbah Road in Advancetown around 3.30pm on Sunday when police say the motorbike left the road and crashed.
Despite desperate efforts by emergency crews, the man could not be revived and died at the scene.
The Forensic Crash unit has now launched an investigation as they try to piece together exactly what happened.
They’re appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam vision or CCTV of the incident, or moments leading up to the crash, to come forward.
It’s the second serious motorbike crash on the Gold Coast in a matter of days.
A 41-year-old man remains in a critical condition in hospital after his motorbike collided with a ute in Surfers Paradise around 7.30pm on Saturday.
It happened at the intersection of Ferny Avenue and Ocean Avenue, with police also appealing for witnesses to that crash as investigations continue.
