A man has been rushed to hospital after being mauled in a terrifying dog attack on the Gold Coast.

The man, aged in his 40s, was attacked at a home on Crescent Avenue in Hope Island around 7.30pm on Sunday.

According to Queensland Police, neighbours heard a man screaming for help and witnessed multiple dogs at the property fighting.

It’s understood the man tried to intervene when he was attacked, suffering bite wounds to his face, neck and limbs.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Gold Coast City Council has confirmed to myGC that it is investigating.

“The City is investigating an incident that took place on Sunday night at Hope Island,” the spokesperson said.

“Officers attended and two animals remain in the custody of the City while the investigation is undertaken”.
