A man has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after he was allegedly assaulted in a violent break and enter in Varsity Lakes.
Four men allegedly broke into the Regensberg Close residence around 8.15pm on Monday.
Once inside, an altercation broke out between the group and the 36-year-old male occupant who suffered serious wounds to his head and hand.
The men fled the scene in a vehicle before police arrived on scene and remain on the run.
The injured man was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A major investigation is now underway, with police appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant CCTV vision to come forward.
