A man has been rushed to hospital with significant burns to his whole body after an explosion at a home on the Gold Coast this afternoon.
The property along Fortune Street in Coomera erupted into flames just before 4.30pm on Monday.
The man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition.
A second person, believed to be a woman, was treated for back injuries and smoke inhalation before being transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
The home has been completely destroyed, with investigations into what sparked the inferno now underway.
A number of emergency crews remain on scene, with investigators expected to scour the property once given the all-clear to enter.
