Investigations are underway after a man was found completely unconscious with an “obvious skull fracture” on the side of a road in Southport.
An associate is understood to have found the man bloodied and bruised with missing teeth on Sunday.
Mystery surrounds how the man came to be injured or why, but police have confirmed investigations are ongoing.
“It is quite concerning,” Acting Chief Superintendent Geoff Sheldon told the ABC.
“Two people have been arrested, with possible charges expected to be laid this morning”.
The victim was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.
