A man wanted over a frightening road rage shooting on the Gold Coast last year has finally been tracked down after nearly two months on the run.
The 37-year-old from Oxenford was found in Western Sydney on Saturday after Gold Coast detectives worked with interstate police.
The man is alleged to have fired a gun into the side of a car during a road rage incident along Bermuda Street in Mermaid Waters last November.
“He is alleged to have been on bail for serious offences at this time and was wearing an electronic monitoring device as part of the conditions of that bail,” Queensland Police said.
The man has now been extradited back to Queensland after being taken into custody on a Queensland arrest warrant.
He’s due to front Southport Magistrates Court today on a string of charges including unlawful possession of weapons, dangerous conduct with weapon, wilful damage of police property and two counts of breach of bail conditions.
