Update @ 11.30am: A 30-year-old man involved in a single-vehicle crash in Biggera Waters this morning has sadly died.
The man’s vehicle crashed into a traffic light pole at the intersection of Brisbane Road and Captain Cook Drive around 4.00am.
Despite desperate attempts by Emergency Services, the man tragically died at the scene.
He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Investigators are appealing to anyone who witnessed or may have footage of the incident to contact the police.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Latest @ 7.30am: A man is in a critical condition following a serious crash in Biggera Waters.
The High Acuity Response Unit came upon the vehicle which had crashed into a pole before catching on fire on Pine Ridge Road and Brisbane Road at 4.00am.
The man in his 30s was initially entrapped and extricated with the assistance of QFES.
He was treated for critical injuries.
The intersection remains closed with diversions in place but Police are urging motorists to avoid the area if possible.
Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
Earlier @ 5.00am: Emergency Services are currently on the scene of a serious car crash in Biggera Waters.
A vehicle crashed into a pole around 4.00am this morning at the Pine Ridge Road and Brisbane Road intersection.
Paramedics, Police and QFES are currently attending the crash.
A Queensland Police Spokesperson has confirmed they are currently investigating the situation.
They are urging motorists to avoid the area, with a warning it may take several hours to reopen the intersection.
